Tunneling Toward Light

Acrylic on Canvas 3'1/2'' X 4'. A young girl crouches and walks through a tunnel filled with a bright turquoise light. The direction that the silhouette is walking is purposefully ambiguouse. She could be walking toward the light, or away. As we go through life's trials and tribulations, sometimes, we walk toward a higher brighter way of life, and other times we run from our highest potential to hide in the darkness and comfort of our old habits.  Surreal flowing light and energy surrounds her. Her journey is an allegory for us all. We are each on our own individual spiritual path toward becoming our highest self. This journey is spiritually universal, spanning the scope of all religions. The tree symbolizes a quest toward knowledge of one's inner-self. The surreal light forms breaking the frame of the image represent the indescribable, infinite, and divine energy that connects us to each other and the higher power that guides us.
